“Summer in the Rockies” Hunter/Jumper Competitions

Colorado Horse Park to Host “Summer in the Rockies” Hunter/Jumper Competitions!

For Immediate Release

Parker, CO – March 12, 2015 – The Colorado Equestrian Partners are pleased to announce that the Colorado Horse Park (CHP) in Parker, CO, will host six weeks of “Summer in the Rockies” hunter/jumper competitions this summer from June 3 to July 19. CHP’s “Summer in the Rockies” series is one of the most prominent hunter/jumper equestrian circuits in the United States.

The 148-acre Colorado Horse Park is the largest horse park west of the Mississippi and was recently purchased by Colorado Equestrian Partners. It hosts over 40 events per year, has 11 competition arenas, 100 Boarding Stalls, an RV Park, 2 Covered Arenas, 300 permanent stalls, and enough portable stalls for over 1,000 competing horses.

Mark Bellissimo, Principal of Colorado Equestrian Partners, stated, “Colorado Horse Park offers not only a fantastic show experience for horses and riders, but a spectacular area to explore and enjoy when not at the show. We welcome everyone to come and experience the show as we aim to make it a fun experience at a superior facility.”

The “Summer in the Rockies” Series will host a $20,000 Open Jumper Welcome Stake each week along with grand prix competitions in increasing prize money of $30,000, $40,000, $50,000, $60,000, $75,000, and $100,000. They will also offer increased prize money in additional jumper divisions and hunter divisions.

Colorado Equestrian Partners is already making an initial investment to improve the footing in all seven show rings as well as the five single and one double schooling rings, which will all be ready for the start of the summer series.

“Colorado Horse Park is a beautiful facility, and we want to bring it to the standard that our exhibitors have come to expect and that they have experienced at our other facilities in Wellington and Tryon,” said organizer Michael Stone. “Footing is one of the most important parts of any horse show, and we will invest in Colorado Horse Park to have the best for the horses competing there.”

Preparations are already being made to increase areas for greater exhibitor and horse comfort, including shaded areas near the competition rings.

Exhibitors can also expect to enjoy improved VIP areas and a schedule designed for them to be able to enjoy the surrounding area and activities, including grand prix events at 2 pm on Sundays for convenience.

Further plans and announcements for this year’s Series will be available soon.
