The 2016 Summer in the Rockies Prize List Now Available Online! 
For Immediate Release:
Parker, CO – April 11, 2016 – The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) is pleased to announce the 2016 Summer in the Rockies Prize List is now available online. Enjoy seven weeks of USEF and USHJA rated competition at The Colorado Horse Park, beginning Wednesday, June 8, and continuing through Sunday, July 24. With more than $1.5 million offered in prize money throughout the series, the 2016 Summer in the Rockies is one you won’t want to miss.
Summer in the Rockies I (June 8-12) will feature the $30,000 Front Range Kubota Grand Prix as well as a $20,000 Open Welcome Stake, which will be offered weekly throughout the series.
The second week of the Summer in the Rockies Series (June 15-19) will feature a $20,000 Open Welcome Stake presented by Littleton Equine Medical Center on Thursday, June 16, as well as the $40,000 Parker Hotels Grand Prix, on Saturday, June 18. Competition will resume Sunday, June 19, with the $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Classic, followed by the $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby presented by Front Range Kubota. A $15,000 Jumper Derby will conclude Summer in the Rockies II, following elite hunter competition.
Summer in the Rockies III (June 22-26) will host the $50,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix onSaturday, June 25, and highlight Junior/Amateur Owner Classics in the International Ring on Sunday, June 26. Continuing on with the 2016 circuit, Summer in the Rockies IV (June 29-July 3) will host the $60,000 Ariat Grand Prix on Saturday, July 2. The Colorado Horse Park Pony Hunter Derby will commence classes in the International Ring on Sunday, July 3, followed by the largest hunter class of the season with the $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby beginning at 3:30 p.m. A $15,000 Jumper Derby will finish the fourth week of competition at The Colorado Horse Park.
The following week of competition will offer the fifth consecutive $20,000 Open Welcome Stake onThursday, July 7, followed by the $60,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix on Saturday, July 9 in the International Arena. Summer in the Rockies VI (July 13-17) will host the first Under 25 class with the $5,000 Under 25 Classic on Thursday, July 14, preceded by a $20,000 Open Welcome Stake. The $75,000 Nutrena Grand Prix, one of the larger Grand Prix classes of the circuit, will take place onSaturday, July 16.
Concluding the 2016 Summer in the Rockies circuit at The Colorado Horse Park, Summer in the Rockies VII (July 20-24) will host the final $20,000 Open Welcome Stake presented by Equiline, as well as another $5,000 Under 25 Classic. The $100,000 Adequan® Grand Prix will be the highlight of the entire seven-week circuit, showcasing premier horse and rider combinations in the largest class of the 2016 season at The Colorado Horse Park.
