Colorado Horse Park “Summer in the Rockies” Prize List Now Available Featuring Increased Prize Money

Parker, CO – April 6, 2015 – The Colorado Horse Park (CHP) and the Colorado Equestrian Partners are proud to announce that the 2015 “Summer in the Rockies” show schedule and prize list are now available. The competition is set to feature six weeks of Premier Rated Hunters as well as USEF 4* and 5* ratings, and will take place June 3 to July 19, 2015. This year, the series will offer increased prize money for both hunters and jumpers alike. CHP’s “Summer in the Rockies” series is one of the most prominent hunter/jumper equestrian circuits in the United States.

The 148-acre Colorado Horse Park is the largest horse park west of the Mississippi and hosts over 40 events per year, boasting over 75,000 visitors each year. The facility features three permanent barns with 300 stalls, 13 arenas, and a Derby Field designed by Olympic-designer Linda Allen. The facility has the capacity to hold more than 1,000 horses on the property.
“Summer in the Rockies” Notable Events:
Week I, June 3 – 7, 2015 – will include USEF 4* jumper competitions and a $30,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix.
Week II, June 10 – 14 – will include USEF 4* jumper competitions and a $40,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix
Week III, June 17 – 21 – will include USEF 4* jumper competitions, a $50,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix, a $25,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Classic, and a $1,000 Colorado Horse Park Pony Hunter Derby.
Week IV, July 1 – 5 – will include USEF 5* jumper competitions, a $75,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix, and a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Classic
Week V, July 8 – 12 – will include USEF 5* jumper competitions, a $100,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix, a $50,000 USHJA International Hunter Derby, a $5,000 USHJA National Hunter Classic, and a $1,000 Colorado Horse Park Pony Hunter Derby.
Week VI, July 15 – 19 – will include USEF 5* jumper competitions, a $60,000 Summer in the Rockies Grand Prix, and $25,000 Children’s & Adult Amateur Jumper Central Regional Championships.
Weekly Competitions will include a $20,000 Open Welcome Stakes and a $10,000 High Junior/AO Jumper Classic.
Thanks to the Colorado Equestrian Partners and their investments, the footing has been improved and the prize money has been increased for the upcoming series. The Colorado Equestrian Partners are committed to continually improve the facility to better accommodate horses, riders, exhibitors, and spectators for exciting competitions such as the upcoming “Summer in the Rockies” series.
