The purpose of the Weld County Sheep Seminar is to provide you with additional tools to expand your knowledge and increase your relationship building that will help you with your sheep enterprise.

Tentative Program schedule:

  • 8:00 am—9:00 am:
    Check in (Donuts & coffee available at concessions)
  • 9:00 am -10:00 am:
    Session 1 – Sheep Animal Health & Reproduction
    Speaker—Dr. David Van Metre, CSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital
  • 10:00 am-11:00 am:
    Session 2 – The Story of Lamb
    Speaker—Steve LeValley, PhD, CSU Extension Sheep Specialist
  • 11:00 am-12:00 noon:
    Session 3—Lamb Marketing Options for Farm Flock Producers
    Speaker– Ron Cole, ASI Wool Quality and Education Consultant
  • 12:00 noon-1:00 pm:
    Lunch (Available at reasonable price, proceeds will go to 4-H)
  • 1:00 pm-2:00 pm:
    Session 4 – Adding Value to Your Wool Clip
    Speaker—Ron Cole, ASI Wool Quality and Education Consultant
  • 2:00 pm—3:00 pm:
    Session 5 – What Do I Do With That Fleece?
    Speaker –Nancy Irlbeck, PhD, Animal Nutritionist, ANIROONZ Sheep Company
  • 3:00 pm—3:30 pm:
    Evaluation, guest drawing, program closes.

The Colorado Pork Producers Council will be hosting their annual meeting after this event. All producers are welcome and encouraged to attend.
